After the first two seasons of House of the Dragon did not bring in the youngest child of Alicent Hightower, Daeron Targaryen, he is set to make his debut in Season 3. The young and promising Charlie Gordon will reportedly play the role.

Many may not be familiar with the actor or the new character in House of the Dragon. Here is a complete breakdown.

Charlie Gordon’s acting background before House of the Dragon explained

Charlie Gordon is a relatively young actor with limited experience in the field. He is 17 years old. The UK-based actor’s most renowned work before this role is in the TV series Virtual Insanity and Matilda: The Musical.

According to this backstage profile, Charlie is a “passionate, hard working, and dedicated actor, dancer, singer, and multi instrumentalist.” It further reads, “My credits include Matilda the Musical feature film for Netflix and Katie Travis in School of Rock at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.”

HBO has yet to confirm the casting in any sort of official announcement. However, a House of the Dragon fan page shared the news with a set video that featured Gordon.

Fans have reacted positively to the casting and expressed the same on social media platforms like X. Many have also claimed that Gordon looks exactly like he could be Aemond Targaryen’s brother.

Who is Daeron Targaryen in House of the Dragon Season 3?

Daeron Targaryen is the fourth-born child of Alicent and Viserys. He is the younger half-brother of Rhaenyra. He was fostered by Lord Hobert Hightower. So far, the series has not depicted him on screen, but there have been mentions of his name, confirming he was alive.

Now, he will join his side of the family in the upcoming war. Daeron rides the dragon Tessarion and plays a key part in the Dance of the Dragons. He also has a bigger role in the future, but that part is best avoided for now.
