‘Landman’ Star Confesses to Buying Home Just 12 Minutes from Where Daughter Goes to College pd01

We’re pretty confident in saying that every parent worries about their kid. Especially when they’re going off to college. There’s so much uncertainty about everything these days, you want to make sure they’re going to be alright after they’ve left the nest. But, not many parents will go as far as Landman star Billy Bob Thornton.

As reported by Whiskey Riff, the Landman star purchased a house just 12 minutes from his daughter’s college campus. Bella Thornton currently studies at California Polytechnic University, which is something he is very proud of. He even explained he’ll “tell somebody unsolicited”. “Some lady is just looking through the gem store for crystals or something and I’ll just go, ‘Yeah, my daughter goes to Cal Poly’. I feel like an idiot sometimes, but there is a sense of pride about it.”

Who wouldn’t be proud of their kid getting into a prestigious university? Pretty normal stuff, right? It’s even bled into his outfits – he’s even been seen around sporting Cal Poly merch!

But, he might have took his love for the university a little too far. Billy Bob Thornton and his wife bought a second home pretty close to the Cal Poly campus. He explained that “it was just a natural fit”. He says he really does love the area.

The Landman star explained that “There’s an innocence. There’s something that reminds me of when I was growing up out here.”

The ‘Landman’ Star Shaded LA As Part Of His Reason

But, it looks like the Landman star loved the peace an quiet of the area. “There’s something that reminds me of when I was growing up out here… I think Los Angeles has become a TV show itself.”

He’s not wrong, LA is a pretty busy place, full of the hustle and bustle. He added that when he goes to his home near the campus, he “can just breathe.” While I certainly don’t blame him, I do think that having a place so close to his daughter is a little helicopter parent-y.

But, either way, we’re glad he’s found an area he really likes. He even said it was “by far” his favorite part of California.
