We now have the full list of writers for House of the Dragon season 3, offering a clearer sense of the season’s structure. Although the premiere is still a few months away, it’s already clear that the story will pick up quickly as full-scale war begins, with major events like the Battle of the Gullet likely appearing early on.

The writing lineup is as follows:

  • Episode 1: Ryan J. Condal
  • Episodes 2–3: Sara Hess
  • Episode 4: David Hancock
  • Episode 5: Philippa Goslett
  • Episode 6: David Hancock & Shyam Popat
  • Episode 7: Philippa Goslett & Zenzele Price
  • Episode 8: Ryan J. Condal & Ti Mikkel

Ryan Condal and Sara Hess continue to play central roles, each writing multiple key episodes. Notably, one of Hess’s episodes is described as “conceptual” and more character-driven.

New contributors like Philippa Goslett, Zenzele Price, and Shyam Popat are also stepping into larger roles, potentially bringing fresh perspectives to the series.

On the directing side, the premiere will be helmed by Peristere, and is expected to feature the Battle of the Gullet. Meanwhile, Nina Lopez-Corrado, who directs episodes 5 and 7, has hinted at staging dragon sequences, suggesting more large-scale battles throughout the season.
