So, what’s next in Mayor of Kingstown season 5? Here’s everything we know about the show’s return.
Will there be a season 5 of Mayor of Kingstown?

Yes, Mayor of Kingstown is officially returning for a fifth season. Paramount+ announced the renewal a little over a week after the season 4 finale.
Season 5 will also serve as the show’s final chapter and will be slightly shorter than previous outings, consisting of eight episodes instead of the 10 that filled the first four seasons.
Co-creators Sheridan and Dillon previously said they’re not short on ideas and have a long-term vision for the show. In fact, Dillon previously revealed that they had originally mapped out Mayor of Kingstown to run for seven seasons.
“Whether it goes that far or that’s where we get [who knows], but he has an ending and everyone knows about it,” Dillon told Screen Rant. “And when you talk to him, he will tell you in detail. So, our goal is to get to that season 7, because that’s as far as we can get, because that’s where he’s always had it. 15 years ago, he had it. 15 years ago, ‘So, here’s how it’s starting, Mitch is going to get killed off in the first 10 pages, and season 7, episode 10, this is where Mike’s going to be.’ I’m like, ‘Holy f—, I’m in. Okay.'”

Meanwhile, after surviving an ambush, Kyle finally confronts Callahan (Richard Brake), the man who killed his wife Tracy (Nishi Munshi).
The two come face-to-face at the end of the episode, during which Callahan taunts Kyle over his wife’s murder. Kyle manages to ignore the comments and shoots Callahan multiple times before collapsing into Mike’s arms and bursting into tears.
“The beautiful end of it all is at least they [Mike and Kyle] have each other,” Renner told Entertainment Weekly about the emotional moment between the brothers. “That was something I really had to fight for [at] the end of this show. It was very, very, very important to at least give the audience that. Give them something good.”
He added, “The beautiful part for us is the release of that toxic character and then the two brothers falling into each other — and at least they have each other through it all. So that’s some kind of hope, right?”
