Yellowstone, the series, might be over, but Yellowstone as a phenomenon is far from finished. The Taylor Sheridan TV Universe is eager to protect its ever-growing territory, and with John Dutton III’s long reign at an end, his daughter will scoop up the reins in Dutton Ranch, a new spin-off.
Per Deadline, Dutton Ranch will continue the story of the modern Dutton family. Actress Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, and Cole Hauser, who plays her husband, Rip Wheeler, are poised to anchor the show, in addition to some other fan-favorite characters from the series. (Just not Kevin Costner himself.)

What will Dutton Ranch be about?
Deadline released the official logline for Dutton Ranch in August 2025. It reads: “The Dutton Ranch, home to Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, is a testament to the peace they sought, fought for, and nearly died for, as they’ve come to cherish their 7,000-acre ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”
The outlet also reported that “the show is expected to remain on the same present-day timeline as the original series, with the new offshoot sharing the most DNA with the mothership of any show in the universe to date.”

Chad Feehan—who also helmed the Sheridan project Lawmen: Bass Reeves—will serve as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. His fellow producers include Sheridan himself, Ron Burkle, Keith Cox, Michael Friedman, David C. Glasser, Hauser, David Hutkin, John Linson, Art Linson, Reilly, Christina Alexandra Voros, and Bob Yari. Yes! The official teaser for Dutton Ranch arrives on March 23, 2026. The teaser sees Beth and Rip taking care of business, and with some bodies getting buried in the process.
When will Dutton Ranch be released?
The official teaser revealed that Dutton Ranch season 1 will be released on May 15, 2026. The series will stream on Paramount+.
Will there be any more Yellowstone spin-offs?
Reilly and Hauser’s lead vehicle won’t be the only Yellowstone story moving forward. The Madison and Marshals wereofficially released in March 2026, while other Yellowstone-adjacent projects, including 1944 and 6666, are in the works. Suffice to say: The Duttons will continue to leave their mark on Montana.
